Nieuwe naam voor Feyenoord Handbal

Om te kunnen groeien en ons verder te ontwikkelen, is verandering noodzakelijk. Nu onze samenwerking met Feyenoord Voetbal ten einde komt, moet ook onze club verder en gebruiken we de lessen die we de afgelopen jaren hebben geleerd om onszelf verder te versterken, zowel als hét handbalteam van Rotterdam, als het hart van de gemeenschap in Rotterdam-Zuid.

Voordat we onze nieuwe naam, ons logo en de nieuwe richting van onze club onthullen, willen we benadrukken dat onze toewijding aan Rotterdam en onze gastvrijheid naar iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in handbal of wil werken aan zijn of haar fysieke gezondheid onveranderd blijft, ongeacht welke naam of logo wij kiezen.

Als eerste stap in dit veranderingsproces gaan we opnieuw onze eigen identiteit creëren, eentje die ons in de toekomst zal vertegenwoordigen en ervoor zorgt dat we herkenbaar blijven in het hele land. De afgelopen weken hebben onze leden en vrijwilligers hard gewerkt aan de toekomstige richting van onze club en de identiteit die onze nieuwe naam moet vertegenwoordigen. Dit resulteerde in twee opties voor de Algemene Ledenvergadering: Handbal Rotterdam en Rotterdam Handbal.

Vanavond, maandag 17 maart, kwamen onze leden, van spelers en coaches tot vrijwilligers, samen om een nieuwe naam voor onze vereniging te kiezen en daarmee deze nieuwe fase officieel in te luiden. Met een overweldigende meerderheid van de stemmen zijn we ontzettend trots en enthousiast om onze nieuwe naam bekend te maken: “Rotterdam Handbal”.

Rotterdam Handbal staat voor onze blijvende verbondenheid met Rotterdam en weerspiegelt onze prestaties en ambitie als dé handbalvereniging van de stad. Als volgende stap zal ons bestuur, in samenwerking met alle teams, stemmen over ons nieuwe logo, onze kernwaarden en onze missie.

Als vereniging van Rotterdam-Zuid houden we jullie natuurlijk op de hoogte van alle ontwikkelingen rondom Rotterdam Handbal via onze communicatiekanalen. Tot slot willen we nogmaals onze oprechte dank uitspreken aan Feyenoord Football voor de fijne samenwerking in de afgelopen seizoenen. We zullen tot en met de laatste wedstrijd van het seizoen 2024/2025 met trots de rood-witte kleuren dragen.

New name for Feyenoord Handbal

In order to develop and grow, change is necessary. As our partnership with bvo Feyenoord comes to an end, our club has to also move on, and use the lessons we learned throughout these years to grow further, both as the best handball team of Rotterdam, and as the core part of the community of South Rotterdam. Before we announce our new name, logo and the direction our club will take, we consider it paramount to emphasize that whatever name and logo we choose, our commitment to Rotterdam and welcoming anyone interested in handball or improving their physical health remains unchanged. 

As the first stage of this change, our club will have to create its own identity again, that will represent us in the future and make sure that we are recognizable all over the country. In the past weeks, our members and volunteers worked hard to decide the direction our club strives to follow and the identity we aim our name to represent, resulting in 2 options for the ALV. Tonight, Monday,  March 17th, to kickstart this new era of our organization, our members gathered, from players through coaches to volunteers and voted on the new name of the club. 

With an overwhelming supports, we are more thrilled to announce our new name, “Rotterdam Handbal”. Rotterdam Handbal proudly represents our lasting commitment and belonging to the city of Rotterdam while aligning with the results of our first team, showcasing us as the number one handball organization of the city. Following the vote on our name, in collaboration with all the teams, our board will vote on our new logo, determine our core values and mission statement. As the team of South Rotterdam, we will make sure to keep you informed on all developments of Rotterdam Handbal and will provide all new information through all of our platforms. As a last note, for one more time we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Feyenoord Football for our fruitful partnership in recent seasons and will proudly represent the red and white colours until the end of this collaboration.
